His dedication to ministry led him to serve in many capacities. He began as a deacon, served as a Sunday School Superintendent, and was called into the Gospel Ministry in 1946. Because of his faithfulness and loyalty, he was also appointed as Assistant Pastor of Wilbon Chapel COGIC. He was blessed to travel as an evangelist and ministered with the renowned "guitar playing" Elder Utah Smith, Pastor of Two Wings COGIC, and was soon appointed Assistant Pastor to Elder Smith. In 1961, he founded the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ where he presently serves as Senior Pastor. He also serves as Pastor of the Historic Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ, founded by Bishop Claiborne Jones and Mother M. Megregor Jones.
